Translations for Europe

Did you know? The current design of euro banknotes has the word “euro” written in both the Latin and Greek alphabets.

There are 23 official languages in the European Union along with a range of others in common use. The EU supports multilingualism and encourages people of all countries to be able to speak two languages in addition to their mother tongue.

Over the centuries, conflicts have arisen over language as cultures have evolved and migrated across the continent. Today, many countries have laws in place to protect their language. For instance, a French law passed in 1539 states that every document in France should be written in French while the Toubon Law, passed in 1994, aims to eliminate Anglicisms from official documents.

Interestingly, the most widely spoken native language in the EU is actually German, ahead of both English and French. However, approximately half of all Europeans speak and understand English. With its wide mix of languages combined with strict protection laws, many businesses need to translate when talking to the European market. Our location-based services ensure your translations are accurate, meaningful and easily understood by your desired audience.

Our most commonly requested languages for the region are French, Russian and German.
